During the past few weeks, Dustin has visited the 5 star Mainport by Inntel Hotels to test if it’s true what guests say. “Is this really an experience of world class and design?” Dustin the Duck is a well like guest and famous “employee” of Inntel Hotels. His favourite past time is swimming in infinity pools and bubbling in round whirlpool baths. Dustin visits all the hotels and tests their hospitality, atmosphere and facilities. He shares his experience on his Instagram account.
To prepare for his stay Dustin made a checklist. He’s interested in the interior designs of the hotel and the Highlights of Rotterdam. How does the slogan “gateway to the world” reflect in the design? And what are the best activities to do in Rotterdam?
Design by the water
The design hotel is surrounded by water. The historic Leuvehaven is the first thing that catches Dustin’s eye and the eyes of many of the guests. To fully enjoy this view Dustin chooses a luxurious Waterfront Spa Room with the big round whirlpool in front of the window. This way he has a breath-taking view over the lively maritime activities in the water. This is precisely what Dustin wants to see and where he wants to be.
Gateway to the world
The Rotterdam harbour is one of the largest ports in the world. On a daily basis, ships arrive here from all corners of the world. This plays a major part in the design of the hotel where every floor is based on a different continent. Dustin’s room is inspired by Africa. Here you’ll find colourful prints of African animals and patterns. He’s happy to share his selfie with the wallpaper in his room on his Instagram.
Rotterdam from and in the water
The best and most surprising way to discover Rotterdam is from the water. Get on a water taxi from the dock behind the hotel and experience the Rotterdam harbours from a different perspective. Sail underneath the Erasmusbrug and get out by the Euromast to discover the Euromast from a great height. You can also book a private cruise with the water taxi. An enthusiastic captain will take you past all the highlights of Rotterdam. A fun trip is guaranteed!
Round whirlpool baths & a diner Down Under
Mainport is known for the big round whirlpools in front of the window. Dustin has decided his stay is complete after bubbling in the bath and a visit to Spa Heaven. You can’t call it a ‘wellness’ stay until you’ve experienced the saunas and bubblebaths. Completely relaxed Dustin sits down for dinner at restaurant Down Under. While looking out over the Leuvehaven (what else) he starts his culinary journey around the world with a mocktail. After a relaxing stay, Dustin leaves to his next destination: Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Zaandam.
