Inntel Hotels receives quality mark from Kiwa for COVID-19 preventive measures

Inntel Hotels is the first hotel group in The Netherlands to receive the quality mark for their COVID-19 measures from certification company Kiwa. As a result of this certification Inntel Hotels can proof all the necessary steps to limit the chance of infection with the corona virus have been taken.

The hotel group is located in various cities and has restaurants, swimming pools and wellness – facilities. All of them need separate measures which have all been tested by Kiwa. Inntel Hotels follows strict protocols to safeguard the well-being and safety of its guests and employees. National regulations and industry-specific guidelines are followed, as well as various additional precautions initiated by the hotel group.

It was very important for Inntel Hotels that the testing took place by an independent party before the summer period, says general director Karin Geurts. “We want our guests to enjoy a city trip or staycation in the same carefree way they did as before the coronavirus. For us the quality mark by Kiwa is an re-affirmation that with our precautions we put in all the necessary effort for the well-being of our guests. It also contributes to our guests feeling safe and comfortable while the stay overnight, dine or have a meeting at Inntel Hotels.”

Independent testing of the COVID-19 measures

Inntel Hotels collaborated with Kiwa to test all the safety measures relating to the coronavirus. Kiwa introduced a new quality mark with independent audits that test if all precautions meet the standards set by the local government. Inntel Hotels is the first hotel group in The Netherlands whose measures have been tested by an independent company. Within the hotel group the wellbeing of their guests and personal attention is of the highest importance. Next to the wellness centres the luxury room types offer private wellness facilities such as a whirlpool and sauna. All the hotels made various adjustments and are working according to the guidelines set by the government. Before arrival guests get a call to answer any questions they might have and to supply them with current information.

In the hotels various measures have been taken like one-way walking routes, stickers that indicate the proper distance and disinfection stations. The frequency of cleaning public areas has been raised and the housekeeping department has additional safety and hygiene measures. In the restaurants a menu is solely provided upon request. There is an online ordering systems which enables guests to place their order with their mobile phone. Employees work in shifts and always with the same co-workers. All restaurant employees have a set placement in the restaurant.
Evaluation and adjustment of these protocols is done on a daily basis according to government policy. Every team within Inntel Hotels has one person that is responsible for protocols, training and staff instructions.
