Utrecht is so much more than a layover on your way to other places. It has so many beautiful spots like the Dom Tower and the canals. And there are lots of fun activities to do. In this Museum Special: Utrecht we highlighted a few of the best museums for you.

Railway museum

Railway enthusiasts can enjoy the trains from their room in Inntel Hotels Utrecht Centre, but Utrecht has more to offer them. At the Railway Museum they offer fun for all ages. They even have a royal wait room and 3 carriages formerly used by the royal family. So you can feel like a king or queen yourself. Or you can experience what it’s like to drive a steam train in the “vuurproef”.

Miffy Museum

Utrecht is the birthplace of Dick Bruna and therefore also of Miffy. One of the things you will notice when walking the streets of Utrecht are the traffic lights with Miffy. Utrecht also has a Miffy Museum which is a really fun place for small children (and their parents).

DOMunder

Fan of Indiana Jones or just interested in history and archaeology then you must visit DOMunder. With the help of a smart flashlight, history will come alive. Perfect to combine with a visit to the Dom.

Museum Speelklok

Are you in the mood for some music? At Museum Speelklok they have self-playing musical instruments in all shapes and sizes. Did you know The Netherlands is the only place in the world where they still produce street organs?

Sonnenborgh

For those people with their head in the clouds or who just like to watch the stars, there’s Sonnenborgh. In this museum and observatory, you can even watch the stars during the day through projection. Of course, they also have a telescope to watch the stars in real-time.
