By the riverside
Over 12.000 people ride their bike over the Erasmusbrug on a daily basis. For those who love riding their bike by and over the river there is the “nieuwe maasparcours”. There are tons of possibilities to ride your bike here with routes varying from 2.5 to 28 kilometres. Along the route there are many vantage points (marked on the map as uitkijkpunt) where you can rest and watch all the traffic on the water.
Gouda cheese route
Are you also a big fan of Gouda cheese? The KoeKaas route takes you past all the cows and farms that are responsible for this delicious, creamy cheese. Combine the bicycle route with your groceries by buying straight from the farmer. This route will take you past beautiful recreational area’s and quaint villages.
Atlantikwall
World War II left it’s marks on Rotterdam and the surrounding area. The Atlantikwall was to be a defence line all along the coast, but thankfully the Germans never got to complete it. Traces of this wall can be found in Hoek van Holland. Various bunkers and moats can still be found here. This route goes past all these places.
The parks of Rotterdam
Rotterdam is famous for its port and modern buildings. However there is also a lot of nature in and around the city. This 40 kilometre long route will take you past all the beautiful parks in the city. The highlight of the route? The windmill which was build in 1731.
Highlights of Rotterdam
The highlights of Rotterdam can also be reached by bike. This route will take you by the Erasmusbrug, Rotterdam Central Station and the famous Markthal. A perfect route for those who want to have all the highlights in one route.
