My name is Joep Jansen. I’ve been working as Sales Coördinator in the best and most beautiful hotel in Brabant, Inntel Hotels Art Eindhoven, for a little over a year now. During this time I’ve had the opportunity to discover a lot of new things in the city and meet different people that bring the city to life. I discovered ‘the forbidden city’*, new hotspots and cool events.
Which well-known spots are a must visit when sightseeing in Eindhoven?
Discover the industrial Strijp-S and feel like you’re in a completely different part of the city. Walk or ride a bike through an enterprising piece of the city where creativity meets the history of Eindhoven. Afterwards, visit “de Bergen”, where you’ll find great coffeehouses, restaurants and speciality stores.
Which museums would you recommend?
Eindhoven has several interesting museums. I often recommend the Philips museum. This is the best place to discover the backstory of the city and her lightbulb. Another personal favourite is the DAF-museum. Travel back to the thirties. Discover the story behind DAF and be surprised by the cars in this collection.

What are the hidden gems that people must visit?
Eindhoven has so many hidden gems. It is a city filled with creative ideas and cool initiatives. From trendy restaurants and beautiful terraces to City Farm and the Philips Fruit garden. Bean Brothers is one of those hidden gems. “Just walk through the alley” like they say and get yourself a cup of coffee. If you’re looking for a delicious treat with your coffee go to the Pastryclub. They make the most delicious and beautiful creations with the best products at a super cool location. Which of their creations is the best? Go discover your own personal favourite!
Can you describe a perfect day in Eindhoven?
Eindhoven is a very bicycle friendly city so rent a bike! This will also enable you to discover more of the city. Start at Strijp-S and don’t forget to go into Vershal het veem where you get to taste the best local produce. Proceed to the Philips fruit garden. Enjoy the sun and your purchases in the Victoria park or at the waterside at brewery Stadsbrouwerij. Before heading back to the hotel and your jacuzzi discover the restaurants at de Kleine Berg. And of course, end your day with a drink at Bar & Brasserie Lumen in Inntel Hotels Art Eindhoven.
