We are the enthusiastic front office team of Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Centre. It is our pleasure to share our tips about our beautiful city, Amsterdam, which next to the famous highlights has so much more to offer. In our spare time, we love to head out into the city to visit our favourite places and to discover new hotspots. Sharing these places with our guests is one of the things that makes our job so much fun.
The Netherlands is the ultimate vacation destination this summer. What makes Amsterdam such a fun destination for couples?
When we go on a holiday to a foreign destination we always visit tourist destinations. In our own country, we are less likely to do so. This could lead to missing out on fantastic experiences. A romantic evening cruise with wine and bites is something everyone should do in Amsterdam. Or take a walk through the Hortus Botanicus, a beautiful botanic garden near Artis. Romance blossoms underneath the real mistletoe that grows in this garden.
Contributing to the holiday feeling is the re-opening of the museums and restaurants. Which bucket-list activities in or around Amsterdam are suited for couples who are into fun or adventurous activities?
Ripleys believe it or not is an extraordinary museum. You will find remarkable things here such as the tallest man in the world or the spiny porcupinefish. Take the best pictures for Instagram in the WONDR Experience. From the A’DAM LOOKOUT tower, you will get the best view of the city. This is a not to miss attraction in Amsterdam. True daredevils can swing on one of the highest swings in Europe here. Another activity to add to your bucket list.
It’s Summer! Which activities are perfect for a summer day in Amsterdam?
There are many great terraces in Amsterdam where you can enjoy the summer vibe with a nice cocktail. In the evening take a stroll along the canals. The light that time of day gives them even more of a romantic vibe. You will find true Amsterdam pubs in the small streets by the canals. They are a perfect spot to end your day and watch those well-lit canals for hours. We also recommend the Vondelpark which is the perfect picnic spot or just a place to relax after a long walk.
